Frequently asked questions.
How do I know what kind of massage I should receive?
There are many different techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, and myofascial massage. A Swedish massage is typically for relaxation, while deeper therapies focus on relieving chronic pain. I do not schedule based on technique as one area of the body may need a different approach from the next, and each person and session are unique. You will discuss your goals with me prior to each session to decide which is best for you.
Will I hurt after receiving a massage?
A massage should not be painful. While some deeper work may cause a bit of discomfort in tense areas, it should not be unbearable. You should always communicate with me if you feel pain, as it can cause your muscles to tense up. After all, I’m in the business of relaxing and helping people, and the last thing I want to do is add more distress.
What if I'm self-conscious about my body? Do I have to undress?
As a Licensed Massage Therapist by the Florida Department of Health I provide a professional, non-judgmental, and comfortable experience. Issues like body hair, skin conditions, or specific body types are normal and do not impact my focus. You are uniquely perfect, and I accept you just the way you are.
You should undress to your comfort level. I use draping techniques with a sheet and blanket to ensure your privacy, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.
Am I supposed to talk during the massage?
It's completely up to you. While some prefer conversation, most clients find it easier to relax by remaining quiet for the entirety of the session. And, if you fall asleep it means your mind and body need it. Graciously allow yourself the moment of rest you deserve.
I see you treat women, but I’m a man - Can I schedule with you?
I do primarily focus on helping the unique needs of women, and my approach as a whole is relaxing, even for pain, and self-care focused. Nonetheless, if you’re in pain or need a time out, I’ll be happy to schedule you too.
How often should I get a massage?
The frequency depends on your individual needs and goals, such as managing chronic pain or simply for relaxation. I can help you determine the right schedule for your concerns.
How much should I tip you?
I never, ever require a tip in addition to my service fees. This is an individual decision and does not impact the quality of care I provide. I do always love stellar reviews to help spread the word in order to help others who need it. You may leave a review here: https://g.page/r/CTyng2CG79ckEBM/review
I don’t see a sign for your office - how do I find you?
Just West off the Corkscrew exit from 75 (or heading East from 41 on Corkscrew toward 75), my office is located inside My Salon Suite next to Lowe’s, diagonal from Dunkin Donuts. Parking is in the back or on the side of the building, and accessible parking is available. You will notify me of your arrival at the kiosk, Lori Reese LMT, so I can welcome you for your appointment.
